Spænsk kvenskáld á millistríðsárunum

Christina Bezari flytur fyrirlestur á vegum Bókmennta- og listfræðastofnunar sem hún nefnir „Spanish Women Poets in the Interwar Period: Magazines, Avant-Garde Literary Circles and Translations (1918–1939).“ Fyrirlesturinn verður haldinn kl. 16:30 þrðjudaginn 26. apríl í stofu 106 í Odda.

Christina Bezari er nýdoktor og sinnir rannsóknum og kennslu í spænskum og enskum bókmenntum við háskólann í Gent. Rannsóknir hennar hverfast um þátttöku spænskumælandi kvenna í framúrstefnuhreyfingum Evrópu á þriðja og fjórða áratug 20. aldar. Í útgefnum fræðilegum greinum sínum, sem birst hafa á ensku, spænsku og frönsku, hefur Bezari m.a. fjallað um spænska ljóðlist og samanburðarbókmenntir, salonamenningu 19. aldar, bókmenntaþýðingar og kvennatímarit í Suður Evrópu.

This lecture examines Spanish women’s contribution to the avant-garde as part of a more general international phenomenon, in contrast to previous assumptions that confined their production to a local dimension. Although Spanish women poets of the interwar period were relegated to obscurity both during Franco’s dictatorship and during the democratic transition, this lecture seeks to highlight their contribution to avant-garde literary circles and magazines and examine the networks of intellectual exchange that they formed across national borders. To provide a better understanding of the influences they received and the channels they used to translate and disseminate their work, we will focus on the Brussels-based avant-garde circles La Lanterne Sourde and Amitiés hispano-belgo-américaines as well as the literary circle of the Parisian bookstore La Librairie Espagnole.
